We fell in love with Gee the moment that Roger found his sweet face on the Boulder Valley Humane Society website. We knew from that moment that he was part of our family and that life would never be the same. He was the type of Yellow Lab that never lost his inner-puppy. Even at seven, when he joined us, he loved to run in the grass and snow, play in the water, swim for balls, and to pierce and collect abandoned basketballs and soccer balls. From his extensive collection of toys, one would not only be able to tell how much he was loved, but how sweet he was at heart. On any given day, one could find him asleep among all his toys that he had pulled out purely to take inventory. Of course he had his favorites, a flattened basketball, a purple giraffe, and a stuffed trout. Gee also loved children. He had a special way of being with them that brightened their day and made them feel loved. Gee was also a great traveler. Starting on our first day together, he loved being in the truck or car – he loved being with us anywhere and everywhere we went, so we made it so. We’d like to believe we helped Gee to trust again. In the beginning, his anxiety drove, but by the end he had a loving community of family and care givers that loved him and he loved in return. Gee was special and not just because he was ours. He was wise, comforting, and made the world a better place. He will be missed by many and loved forever by those who knew him.
